Over the weekend, Invest 99L decided to finally form into a tropical entity, with the naming of Tropical Depression 9.
TD9 is forecast to grow into a Tropical Storm by later Monday or early Tuesday morning as conditions become more favorable for development.
As of the 5AM advisory, TD9 currently has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph with gusts to near 45 mph and moving to the west at 9mph.
The storm is forecast to eventually turn west northwest and eventually north, then east and curve back around and slam into Florida somewhere from Tampa northwards to the big bend of Florida.
No watches or warnings have been posted as of 5AM Monday morning.
Here in Orlando, we are expected to get minimal tropical storm conditions, but very heavy rainfall is in our forecast almost all week leading up to a potential landfall of the system.
You can track the latest on the storm here, and check back for updates as we receive them.
