Hurricane season began June 1st and we already have our first named storm of the season.
Tropical Storm Andrea has winds of 60 mph with gusts upwards of 70 mph. The storm is moving NNE at 14 mph and is expected to make landfall in the Big Bend of Florida within the next 24 hours.
A tornado watch is in effect for our area until 11 pm this evening and a Tropical Storm warning is in effect for
Counties south of Orlando will receive mainly rain and the occasional tornado and wind gust, but counties to the north, including Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties can expect higher winds and torrential rainfall along with the threat for tornadoes.
